Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, dressée, à tiges grêles, poilues.

Feuilles à la base et opposées, entières, simples, linéaires à lancéolées, poilues, les supérieures sessiles et embrassantes.

Fleurs à symétrie bilatérale, presque radiaire, mauve pâle à blanchâtres, de 3 à 4 mm de diamètre, réunies par 5 à 15 en capitules solitaires de 8 à 9 mm de diamètre. Corolle à 4 pétales soudés en tube, aplatis dans la partie supérieure. Capitule à fleurs extérieures rayonnantes. Calice réduit à une coupe à marge à 12 à 24 dents. Involucre à bractées allongées, à nervures saillantes. Ovaire infère.

Fruits, akènes à 1 graine, surmontés par la coupe du calicule.

Flowers bilaterally symmetrical, almost radiate, pale mauve to whitish, from 3 to 4 mm in diameter, joined together by 5 to 15 in solitary capitula from 8 to 9 mm in diameter. Corolla with 4 petals fused in tube, flattened in the upper part. Capitulum with external flowers spreading from the centre. Calyx reduced to a cup edged with 12 to 24 teeth. Involucre with lengthened bracts, with a protruding vein. Ovary inferior.

Fruits, achenes with 1 seed, surmounted by the cut of epicalyx.

Degenii : nom donné en l’honneur de Árpád von Degen (1866-1934),

biologiste et botaniste hongrois, auteur d'une Flore de Velebit

(Croatie).

Degenii : name given in honour of Árpád von Degen (1866-1934),
