Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, à tiges poilues, dressées.

Feuilles alternes, composées trifoliées, à folioles poilues ou non, de 10 à 18 mm de long, oblongues à elliptiques, dentées, à foliole terminale à court pétiole. Stipules ovales à oblongues.

Fleurs à symétrie bilatérale, mauves et blanches, de 8 à 10 mm de long, réunies en lâches bouquets ovoïdes, jusqu’à 30 mm de diamètre, à pédoncule 2 ou 3 fois plus long que la feuille sous-jacente. Corolle papilionacée à étendard fortement veiné, fonçant et persistant en fruit. Calice à dents très inégales. 9 étamines soudées entre elles et 1 libre. 1 style et 1 stigmate. Ovaire supère.

Fruits, gousses droites, dépassant légèrement le calice.

Corolla papilionaceous with the standard strongly veined, darkening and persisting at fructification. Calyx with very unequal teeth. 9 stamens fused with each other and 1 free. 1 style and 1 stigma. Ovary superior.
